Since the age of six David has been besotted with this traditional art form and has spent many years watching and working with industry professionals to perfect his skill and knowledge.

With numerous professional productions under his belt, David is vastly experienced and enjoys an enviable reputation for traditional values whilst keeping his panto’s fresh and relevent.

David’s professional panto career began in 2000 when Carlisle City Council invited him to bring professional panto back to the City. (It was stopped two years previously due to falling audiences, poor production values and a substantial financial loss).

His first production was budgeted to sell 8,000 tickets and eventually cleared 12,000. Over his ten year tenure, ticket sales rose to in excess of 23,000 with fantastic reviews and standing ovations.

David has an excellent reputation within the industry and now directs pantomime in some of the UK’s top cities and theatres.

David has directed two pantomimes for us at Carriageworks Theatre – each has been met with tens of thousands of happy audience members.  He works well with the cast, creating a teamwork approach and a friendly atmosphere, which shows on stage.  His pantomimes are fun-loving, comical with the odd touch of romance, everything they should be!  David is a great leader and a speedy problem solver, exactly the type of director everyone enjoys working with.
